Setting Yahoo!7 Homepage as the starting page in your browser
Resolution
To change your browser's default starting website, you will need to update your browser preference settings. Follow the steps below for your browser:
If you’re running a browser other than those listed above, refer to your browser's help file for instructions on setting Yahoo!7 as your homepage.
Internet Explorer 8.0 and 7.0
- Select Tools | Internet Options.
The Internet Options dialog box appears. - On the "General" tab, in the "Home Page" text box, type http://au.yahoo.com/.
- Select Apply, and then OK.
Now, every time you start Internet Explorer, Yahoo!7 Homepage appears.
Firefox 3.5 and higher
- Select Tools | Internet Options.
The Internet Options dialog box appears. - Select Main or General.
- In the "Home Page" text box, type http://au.yahoo.com/.
- Select OK.
Now, every time you start Firefox, Yahoo!7 Homepage appears.
Safari 3.x
- On a Macintosh -- Select Safari | Preferences from the Safari menu.
- On a Windows PC -- Select Edit | Preferences from the Safari menu.
The General dialog box appears.
- In the "General" dialog box, select General (if not already selected).
- In the "Home Page" text box, type http://au.yahoo.com/.
- Select the red X button to close the dialog box.
Now, every time you start Safari, Yahoo!7 Homepage appears.
Opera 9.5
- From the Tools | Preferences.
- Select the General tab.
- In the "Startup" pull-down menu, Select Start with home page.
- In the "Home page" field, type http://au.yahoo.com/.
- Select OK.
Now, every time you start Opera, Yahoo!7 Homepage appears.
- Select the wrench icon from the browser toolbar.
- Select Options (Preferences on Mac and Linux; Settings on a Chromebook).
- Select Basics.
- Under "Home page," type http://au.yahoo.com/.
- Close the browser and re-open.
Now, every time you start Chrome, Yahoo!7 Homepage appears.
WARNING: If your homepage changes and you did not change the setting, your computer might be infected by spyware, adware, or other harmful software. You need to remove the harmful software from your computer. Look for an anti-spyware program to help you find these types of programs.
Note: If you cannot change the homepage location in your browser, try contacting your Internet Service Provider (e.g., Comcast, AT&T, etc.) to see if they can change this setting.
