Create, edit, or delete portfolio views

Description

The Views feature of Yahoo! Finance Portfolios can be used to look at watchlist or holdings data in multiple, customizable formats. These Views can be setup to include up to 15 columns from 88 defined fields and can be organized to fit most evaluation strategies.

This document provides steps for creating custom views, editing existing views, and deleting unwanted views from Yahoo! Finance Portfolios.


Resolution

Creating a View:

  1. Log in to Yahoo! Finance and open one of your portfolios.
  2. Click Add Custom View.This is a button that appears on the right side of the Views toolbar. If you don't see "Add Custom View," scroll your browser window to the right and/or click the right-facing arrow that appears on the right side of the toolbar.
  3. On the "Create View" page, type a name into the View Name text box.
  4. Under "Add & Remove Fields," select the fields that you would like to appear as columns.You can choose up to 15 fields; the available options are listed to the right of the drop-downs.
  5. Click Save at the bottom of the page. 

 

Editing a View:

  1. Open one of your portfolios.
  2. Select the view that you would like to edit by clicking on the view name in the views toolbar.
  3. Click Customize current view.This is a link that is located next to the "Add Symbol" button that appears below the toolbar.
  4. On the next page, use the drop-down menus to select the fields you wish to include in the view.
  5. Click Save at the bottom of the page.

Note: If you wish to remove a field, click the drop-down arrow on the field you want removed and select the hyphen (---) that appears at the top of the list.

 

Deleting a View:

  1. Open one of your portfolios.
  2. Select the view that you would like to delete by clicking on the view name in the views toolbar.
  3. Click Customize current view.This is a link that is located next to the "Add Symbol" button that appears below the toolbar.  
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Delete this view link that appears to the right of the "Save" button. 
  5. Click Save.
