Using a portfolio's advanced settings

Learn how to access advanced portfolio settings, which allow you to:

  • Adjust the currency that your portfolio displays all holdings in.
  • Consolidate multiple lots of the same symbol.
  • Sort positions alphabetically.

Resolution

To access and change a portfolio's advanced settings:

  1. Sign in to Yahoo! Finance.
  2. Open one of your portfolios.
  3. In the portfolio, to the right of the portfolio name, click Edit. The "Edit Portfolio" page loads.

  4. On the "Edit Portfolio" page under "Advanced Settings," you can choose to:
    • Change the portfolio currency.
      • All portfolio holdings are displayed in the chosen currency.
      • Note: this setting cannot be changed for individual holdings.
    • Consolidate multiple lots of the same symbol into one entry.
      • Share lots of the same symbol are combined.
      • Number of shares held is summed.
      • Price paid is averaged.
      • Limits, notes, and commission data for consolidated lots may not be available.
    • Sort positions alphabetically by symbol.
  5. When you are finished, click Save.
