How to block a user on Yahoo! Answers
Description
Learn how to block communication from an abusive user on Yahoo! Answers.
Resolution
Yahoo! Answers provides you with the ability to configure your settings to block those users you do not want to contact you through email or Yahoo! Messenger. Blocked Users do not have access to your Network or your Q&A via your public profile page. You can block these users without having to adjust your preferred communication settings.
There are two ways to add a user to your Blocked Users list:
- From your Yahoo! Answers ID Card -- Move your cursor over the picture (or avatar) of the user you've chosen to block and select Block User.
- From your profile page - Go to the user's profile page and select Block User.
You also can block a user after you have received a Yahoo! Answers message from them. To do this, follow the link in their email which points back to that their profile page and select Block User. Once you have added a user to your block list, he or she will no longer be presented with the option to send instant messages or emails to you via Yahoo! Answers.
Note: Blocking a user in Yahoo! Answers through one of the methods described above will not block the user from contacting you directly through Yahoo! Messenger or Yahoo! Mail. Please visit the Yahoo! Messenger help pages for instructions on how to block a user through Yahoo! Messenger or our help article containing steps for blocking a specific email address to stop communication through Yahoo! Mail.
