This article describes how to edit your name in Yahoo! Answers.

You can choose how you appear to others on Yahoo! Answers via the Edit my Preferences link in your profile page.

Note: Deleting your Yahoo! account has no effect on your Answers content.

To review or edit your profile settings:

1. Sign in to your Yahoo! Answers account.
2. Move your cursor over the My Activity tab located on the top of the page.
3. From the menu that will appear, select the Edit My Preferences link.

From the "About you" tab in "Edit My Preferences" page:

• If your Yahoo! Messenger ID is the same as your Answers nickname, people will be able to associate the two together to send email or instant messages.
• If you don't want to reveal your Yahoo! ID:
  1. Select Change name.
  2. Select the option to Use a nickname just for Answers.
  3. Enter your new nickname.
  4. Select Submit.

Please be aware that your old nickname may still appear in search results on Yahoo! and other search engines for a number of days after you have made this change. The changes will be reflected when the next search database refresh cycle occurs.
