How to sign up for a new Yahoo! ID using a non-smart phone

Description

Learn how to register a new Yahoo! ID using a feature phone through Yahoo!'s mobile registration page.


Resolution

To create an account using a mobile device, navigate to the Yahoo! mobile homepage (http://m.yahoo.com/) and select Sign in, then select Sign up on the next page. You will be have two different options for creating your account:

  • Using mobile number as Yahoo! ID
  • Using 3rd Party Email address as Yahoo! ID

After selecting one of these options, follow these steps:

  1. Enter your First/Last Name, Phone Number, Date of Birth, and Password.
    Note: Provide your accurate date of birth as this information may later be used to help verify the ownership of the account. Yahoo! does not sell or provide your personal information to third party companies.
  2. After entering this information, you'll be sent a, SMS text message containing a code and a URL to complete registration on either desktop or smart phone.
    Note: URL and code are valid for 24 hours.
  3. Go to the URL and enter the code to complete registration.

Note: If you attempt to access Yahoo! Mail or Yahoo! Messenger on desktop, you will be forced to upgrade to a standard Yahoo! ID.
