Problems Viewing, Reading or Entering the Security (CAPTCHA) Image or Verification Letters and Numbers
Description
What to do if you have trouble passing the CAPTCHA or security code.
- I cannot find the security code in the wizard
- The code does not display or show
- There is no code or security image to enter
- I can't read the image
- I receive an error using the verification code
- I don't see a security code during registration
Resolution
Sometimes you are asked to enter a code to prove that you are a real person and not a computer program trying to imitate a human. If you are having difficulty with that process, here are some common issues and solutions:
If no image appears, please make sure your browser is set to display images, then try again. Follow the instructions for your browser to see if it is blocking images:
Internet Explorer:
- Select Tools | Internet Options.
- In the Internet Options dialog box, select the Advanced tab.
- Scroll down to Multimedia and check Show pictures.
- Click OK to save your changes.
Firefox on Windows:
- Select Firefox | Options (in older versions of Firefox, this is Tools | Options).
- In the Options window, click Content.
- Check Load images automatically.
- Click OK.
Firefox on Mac OS X:
- From the Firefox menu, select Preferences.
- In the top section of the Preferences dialog box, click Content.
- Check Load images automatically.
- Click OK.
Firefox on Linux:
- Select Edit | Preferences.
- In the top section of the Preferences dialog box, click Content.
- Check Load images automatically.
- Click OK.
If you are having trouble with a specific code, you can click Refresh or Reload on your window, and you will see a new code.
If you continue to encounter problems with this during registration, you may try registering using a different Web browser or computer. If you are still experiencing problems, click the Contact Yahoo! button on the right-hand side of this page and provide us with as much information below as possible:
- What is the code you see in the box? (If you see a code, but it is not accepted.)
- Your browser and version. (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome)
- Your operating system. (Windows, Linux, Darwin)
- Is your browser set to view images? (Please consult your browser's help section.)
- Are you behind a firewall?
We will review the information for you and or technical staff will examine the problem.
