Why am I receiving the "Verification link is no longer valid" error when trying to verify my alternate email address?

Description

If you are receiving the error "The verification link is no longer valid" message while attempting to verify your alternate email address, this document will help you troubleshoot this issue.

Resolution

If you received a verification email at your alternate email initiated from Yahoo! Mail (or another Yahoo! property), it may have a message stating "The verification link is no longer valid." Click Continue, and you will be directed to a Web page allowing you to manage your alternate email addresses. Next to your desired alternate email address or addresses, you will see Verify Now. Click this and follow the instructions provided to you. Your alternate email address will now be verified.

You can also manage your email addresses directly by visiting:

Note: If you don't enter an alternate email address for your account, you will only be able to receive a new password by providing the Secret Answer to the Challenge Question you entered during registration. If you forget the answer to your Challenge Question and do not have an alternate email address listed on your account, you will not be able to receive a new password.

For security purposes, you will always be asked to verify your password in order to edit your information.
