This article describes the steps to save, store, view and delete archived messages.

Yahoo! Messenger no longer offers the ability to save offline messages in the Offline Messages window.

They are now stored under the Archive Message folders. Here's how to set it up:

1. Click the Messenger menu in Messenger.
2.  Select Preferences.
3.  Click the Archive category.
4.  Select one of the three options:
   • "Save all my messages" saves every IM conversation, even when you sign out.
   • "Save all my messages, but clear them each time I sign out" is a great choice for a shared public computer. During the time you're signed in, you view your recent conversations, but once you sign out, all of those messages will be deleted.
   • "No, do not save any of my messages" means archiving is OFF. No items will be saved.
5. Click Apply and then OK to close the Preferences window.

To view your archive:

1. Click the Contacts menu in Messenger.
2. Select Message Archive.
3. A new window called "Message Archive for {your ID}" should appear.
4. Select the archive folder you want to review.

To delete your archive:

1. Click the Contacts menu in Messenger.
2. Select Message Archive.
3. A new window called "Message Archive for {your ID}" should appear.
4. Select the Messages folder and then click the X button if you want to delete your complete Message Archive or select the desired folder and then click X to selectively delete.
