The commissioner role in custom Fantasy Football leagues
Description
Describes the commissioner's privileges in custom leagues.
Resolution
By joining a custom league, you give the commissioner some controls over your team. If you don't want to give a private commissioner these controls, you can join a public league, where Yahoo! Sports acts as commissioner.
In a custom league, the commissioner can:
- Edit a team's roster for the current week or any completed week of the season
- Edit a team's team point total
- Lock any team in the league from performing league-related actions (trading, add/drop, posting, etc.) at any time and without notification or warning
These authorities are necessary because they allow the commissioner to implement any offline roster or scoring rules not supported by the Yahoo! Sports system.
Note: In custom leagues, the league commissioner is responsible for all league activities and is the only one who can resolve any disputes. While we encourage commissioners to follow our fair play and sportsmanship guidelines, Yahoo! Sports will not become involved in disputes between commissioners and managers.
Additional Information
If you are a commissioner, see our list of commissioner tools for information on how to edit a team's roster.
