Getting an Error 638 message when rejoining a league

Description

This article explains why managers are getting Error 638 ("There is not room in this league if all teams from last year return") when trying to join a private league, and how they can join the league.

Resolution

Yahoo! Fantasy Sports leagues hold places for any reinvited teams from the previous season.

If you are seeing Error 638, which states "There is not room in this league if all teams from last year return" when you try to join, there are two possible reasons for this:

  • You are trying to create a new team through the Fantasy Sports homepage, using the league ID# and password, instead of renewing last year's team.

Solution: If you have been invited to renew or take over a team from last season, you will have an email from your league commissioner that provides a link to register your team. Once you follow that link, you will be able to rejoin the league and take over the returning team.

  • Your league commissioner reduced the Max Teams setting below the number of teams already in the league + outstanding invites.

Solution: Your commissioner will need either to delete teams from the league or change the Max Teams setting back.

Additional Information

If you have followed the provided link and are still receiving an Error 638 message, please contact your league commissioner, so they can work on a possible solution.
