Web results are the most relevant web pages found by Yahoo! Search Technology in response to your search terms. Web results are generated from billions of web pages crawled and indexed by Yahoo! Search. Many factors influence whether a particular web site appears in Web Search results and where it falls in the ranking. These factors can include:

• The number of other sites linking to it
• The content on the pages
• The updates we make to our database
• The testing of new product versions
• The discovery of additional sites
• Changes to the search algorithm—and other factors

Web Search lists results ranked by relevance and offers a combination of sites from the entire Web obtained by Yahoo! Search and from the Yahoo! Directory. A particular site's position in a list of results can change over time.

Results may include links to sites that participate in the Content Acquisition Program (CAP). CAP enables content providers to submit web pages and content directly to Yahoo! for review and inclusion within the Yahoo! Search index through the Yahoo! Search Submit program. Yahoo! Getting your site listed in the Yahoo! Directory can increase the likelihood that your site eventually appears in Web Search results. However, a listing in the Yahoo!
