I deactivated FrontPage publishing. Why am I seeing errors on my pages?

When you deactivate FrontPage publishing, you delete FrontPage extensions from your hosting account. Extensions allow your FrontPage software to communicate with the Yahoo! servers so that you can publish successfully, grant publishing privileges to your authors, and enjoy certain other FrontPage-based functionality.

Although your site pages and content are preserved when you deactivate your site or subweb, certain features of your site that are dependent on FrontPage extensions may fail as soon as deactivation is complete. For this reason, we strongly suggest that you consider any potential disruption to your site when you prepare to deactivate FrontPage.

After you deactivate, be sure to review your site carefully for errors. You may need to alter elements of your site to compensate for the missing FrontPage functionality. If you change your mind and decide that you'd like to restore FrontPage extensions and publish with FrontPage once again, you can reactivate anytime. Learn how.

For detailed FrontPage support and troubleshooting, please contact Microsoft directly, as issues you encounter may be related to known bugs in the software. For further assistance, search the Microsoft Knowledge Base.
