Sharing Playlists With Messenger Music Friends

Sharing playlists with Messenger Music friends is fun and easy. When you are listening to one of your playlists, you can invite a friend to listen to it. Your Messenger Music friends can browse and listen to any of your playlists.

 

Here’s How

To invite a Messenger Music friend to listen to a playlist:

  1. Select the playlist that you want to share in the left navigation pane.

    Select a playlist to share.

  2. In the playlist's display in the center pane, click the IM link.

    Click the IM link.

  3. In the window that appears, select the Messenger Music friend that you want to share your playlist with, then click the Send button.

    Select a friend to share the playlist with from your Friends list.

    Tip: If the person you want to share the playlist with isn't signed into Messenger, you can still send him an instant message. He'll see your message the next time he signs on to Messenger.

    On your computer, a conversation window opens displaying a message to let you know that Messenger has sent your invitation.

    You have invited a friend to check out some cool Yahoo! Music content.

  4. Your friend also sees an IM window on his computer, with a link to click if he wants to accept your invitation to share your playlist.

    A friend has invited you to check out some cool Yahoo! Music content.

    When he clicks the Play this song link, the Yahoo! Music Jukebox window opens on his computer, displaying your playlist in the center pane. From this display, he can choose to play the whole playlist or any of its songs.

    If your friend doesn't have the Yahoo! Music Jukebox on his computer yet, he'll see a message inviting him to get it.

 

To view and listen to a friend's playlist:

  1. Click Messenger Music in the left navigation pane.

    Click Messenger Music.

  2. To view a friend's playlists, double-click her name in your list of Messenger Music friends.

    Double-click to see a friend's playlists.

  3. Click a playlist to view the songs.

    In this view, you can browse your friend's playlists.

  4. Double-click any song in the playlist and listen!
