Sharing Music With Messenger Music Friends

When you share music with Messenger Music, you can share a song you're listening to, or listen to a song a friend is playing.

Tip: Yahoo! Music Unlimited subscribers can hear entire tracks, non-subscribers can hear only 30-second samples of shared songs.

 

Here’s How

To share music with Messenger Music friends:

  1. Click My Music in the left pane of the Yahoo! Music Jukebox to access your collection.

    Select My Music to access your personal collection.

  2. Select a song to listen to.

  3. Right-click the song and select Share, and then select With Friend by IM.

    Click Share, With friend by IM to share music.

  4. Select a friend or type in the Yahoo! ID and click Send.

    Select a friend and click the Send button.

    Your friend will receive an instant message inviting them to listen to your music.

 

To listen to your friends' songs:

  1. Click Messenger Music in the left navigation pane.

  2. Click your friend's name in your list of Messenger Music friends or click the View Music link next to your friend's name or Yahoo! ID in the center pane.

    Click your friend's name in the list of Messenger Music friends.Click the View Music link next to your friend's name.

    The center pane changes to display that friend's music collection.

    You can see your friend’s whole music collection.Enlarge

    In this view, you can explore your friend's collection and play music.

  3. Double-click any song in the collection to play it.
