Selecting a Station Customizing My Station Rating Music as You Listen Using Moods Listening to Other Members' Stations

Using Moods

My Station contains specific songs, artists, and albums that you have rated highly, and songs recommended by your influencers. A mood station is based on specific genres. Mood stations allow you to fine tune the music you hear based on your mood.

Tip: You must be a LAUNCHcast Plus or Yahoo! Music Unlimited subscriber to create mood stations.

 

Here’s How

  1. Click LAUNCHcast Radio (The LAUNCHcast Radio icon) in the left navigation pane.

  2. Click the My Station & Moods in the Station Guide.

    Click My Station & Moods to open My Moods.

  3. Click the Create New Mood button in the My Moods section.

    Click Create New Mood to create your mood station.

  4. Complete the four sections of Create a Mood:

    • In the Mood Name section, type a name for your mood.

    • In the Mood Station Description section, type a description of your mood station.

    • In the Genres Featured on this Station section, check the music genres that you want to include in your mood station.

    • In the Discovery Setting section, choose how you much of your rated music will play in your mood station.

    Complete the Create a Mood sections to create a mood station.

  5. Click the Save Mood button.

    LAUNCHcast Radio adds your new mood station to the My Moods section.

  6. Click your mood station and start listening! You can also create additional mood stations and share your mood station with other Yahoo! Music members.

    Click your mood station and start listening.

    Tip: You can access all of your mood stations by clicking My Station & Moods in the Station Guide.

 

What’s Next

You can rate music to further personalize your Mood stations. You can also add influencers to LAUNCHcast Radio to expand the types of music you listen to.

Words to Know

  • Genre: a category of artistic composition marked by a distinctive style, form, or content, such as rock, classical, or jazz.
  • Influencer: Yahoo! Music members who you want to influence the music played on your LAUNCHcast Radio station and in My Recommendations.
  • LAUNCHcast plus: the premium, advertisement-free version on LAUNCHcast Radio.
  • Mood: a profile you can set up to listen to your customized LAUNCHcast Radio station filtered by one or more genres. When you listen to that mood, you hear music within the genres you selected.
  • My Station: your customized radio station in LAUNCHcast Radio.
  • Subscriber: a LAUNCHcast user who has chosen you to influence his or her LAUNCHcast Radio station. Songs, artists, and albums that you rate highly are periodically included on your subscribers’ playlists.
  • Yahoo! Music Unlimited: a collection of more than two million songs, available by subscription and for purchase through the Yahoo! Music Jukebox.
