Video Play Window

At the upper left the video play window presents the video selection and any relevant messaging about the player (for example, if there’s a problem with the video selection).

Share and Buy Buttons

Beneath the player window are two buttons that allow you to interact with and share the video:

  • Clicking Share opens a window that allows you to send an email to others with information about this video.
  • Clicking Buy Song on Y! Music Unlimited starts the Yahoo! Music Jukebox (if you have this installed) and takes you to the song purchase page to buy the download.

If you don’t have the Yahoo! Music Jukebox, clicking this button takes you to an information page where you can find out about getting the free player to buy downloads, and much more.

Video Controls

The player features a Play/Pause button, which allows you to pause the currently playing video and restart it. The Forward and Back buttons allow you to jump back to the previous video or jump to the next one in your Video Lineup. This isn’t a “scrubber” tool to fast-forward through the current video.

The volume and mute controls are to the right. Click the speaker icon to mute the audio, and click again to start audio. Use the volume slider to increase or decrease the audio.

Full Screen Mode

The Full Screen mode fills your monitor with the video image. Click the Full Screen button to start. To exit Full Screen, press the Esc key on your keyboard.

Note: The Full Screen feature only works with Internet Explorer for PC at this time.

Rating Tools

Above the Full Screen button are the rating tools. You can rate the video and artist by dragging the cursor over the star-ratings. If you are signed in, your ratings will be added to your video ratings at Yahoo! Music.

Video Lineup

To the right of the video play window is the Video Lineup. This shows you the videos in a playlist format, from the currently (or next) playing selection at top to the last selection in the lineup at bottom. When you add a video from the browse tray or search results, it’s added as the next upcoming video in the lineup. See Using the Video Lineup to learn more about this feature.

Browse Tray

The bottom of the video player features the browse tray. This is where suggested videos are presented to you, and where video search results appear. Click the Play button (Play video button) or video name next to any suggested video to play it immediately, or click the +Lineup button to add it to the video lineup as the next upcoming video. Search for videos by title or by artist using the search box.

To read more about browsing for videos, see Using Browse Videos.
