The World Wide Web is a big place. We're all searching for something these dayscheap flights, reviews of a great restaurant, or a long-lost schoolmate. Barely a day goes by when we don't look something up on the Internet, either at work or at home. With Yahoo! Search, you can find what you're looking for quickly and easily.
Search is available all over Yahoo!. There's usually a search box at the top of the page in popular areas like Music, Movies, and News. And most prominently, you can use the search box on your My Yahoo! page.
Above the search box you'll see a number of different search options that allow you to limit the search results to a specific option. For example, if you want to view images that relate to the words you type in the search box, select Images before clicking the Search button. Or, perhaps you're interested in news stories related to a specific subject. Select News, type your subject words, and click the Yahoo! Search button.
To get started, try one of the most common types of searcha text search.
Go to your My Yahoo! page.
With the Web option selected, type one or more words in the Search box, then click the Yahoo! Search button.
Yahoo! Search looks throughout the Web for web sites that mention the text you typed and then displays the results in your browser.
The search results page provides links to web sites that contain the words you've searched for. A results page can include the following:
Related words or phrases—shown after the Also try label. These are suggested words that might also pertain to the type of information you are looking for. Simply click a word or phrase to begin another search.
Sponsored search results—shown as web sites with a blue background. The owners of these web sites have paid to have their sites appear at the top or bottom of a results page.
Web search results—shown as web sites with a white background. These web sites appear in the order in which they relate to your search text, with the most relevant appearing at the top.
To view a web page, click its link.

To view additional result pages, click a page number or the Next link at the bottom of the page.
