Adding RSS Content

Any site that supports RSS can be added to My Yahoo!, even if you you can't locate the source in the My Yahoo! content directory by searching or browsing. If you know the URL for the RSS content source, you can add it to your My Yahoo! page.

Here's How

  1. Sites that support RSS are typically identified on web pages by a small, white-on-orange, rectangular XML icon (XML icon). To get the associated URL for the RSS file, click the icon, then copy the URL that appears in your browser's address bar. (You can ignore the XML code that is displayed in the browser.)

Click the icon to see the associated URL.

  2. Go to the Add Content page. (Remind me how.)

  3. Click the Add RSS by URL link to the right of the Find button in the page's Find section.

Click the Add RSS by URL link.Zoom image icon

  4. On the page that appears, paste the RSS content URL in the URL field, then click the Add button.

Enter the URL, then click the Add button.

A preview page appears, showing you what the content will look like on your My Yahoo! page.

  5. If you like what you see, click the Add button. Otherwise click the No Thanks button to return to the Add RSS by URL page.

Click the Add button to add the content to your page.

My Yahoo! displays a message confirming that it has added the content to your My Yahoo! page.

  6. If you want to remove an RSS module that you just added, click the Remove button.

Click the Remove button to remove an RSS module.

  7. You can also remove RSS content by clicking the Delete button (Delete button) for the associated module on a My Yahoo! page.
