Communicating With a Contact

The Messenger Address Book provides several communication options. The row of bullets to the right of each contact tells you which options are available for the contact. You can initiate communication with a contact by clicking one of the contact’s bullets.

Overview of communication options for each contact.

Here’s How

  1. In the Messenger Address Book, place the cursor anywhere in the row containing the contact’s name.

Move the cursor over the contact's row.

Notice that the bullets change to icons, making the contact’s communication options obvious.

  2. Click the desired option to begin communicating with the contact.

Tip: You can also click a contact’s name in the Messenger Address Book to display the contact’s information and communication options.

Click an option to begin communicating.

What’s Next

You can delete a contact in your Messenger Address Book, which also deletes the contact from your Yahoo! Address Book. This is detailed in the Working With Contact Information tutorial.
