Sending: Copy and Paste Onto the IM Window

If you are already having an IM conversation, you can send one or more files to your contact by copying and pasting them from your computer into the IM window.

 

Here's How

  1. Locate and select the file you want to send.

  2. Select Copy on the Edit menu (or press Ctrl+C).

    Select Copy on the Edit menu.

  3. In the IM window, select Paste on the Edit menu (or press Ctrl+V).

    Select Paste on the Edit menu.

    A message in the IM window informs you that you are waiting for your contact to accept the file.

    After your contact accepts the file, you see a progress bar as the file uploads to your contact's computer.

    Then you see a confirmation that the file has been sent.

    If your contact does not accept the file, you receive a declined message.

    Notification that the file has been declined.
