The Address Book tab in Yahoo! Messenger provides access to your Yahoo! Address Book. When you modify information in this tab, you are also modifying information in your Yahoo! Address Book. Conversely when you modify information in your Yahoo! Address Book, the changes are reflected in the Address Book tab in Yahoo! Messenger.
The Address Book tab allows you to conveniently view and manage your Yahoo! Address Book without leaving the Messenger application. It includes a Find feature that lets you quickly locate and view a contact. This is especially useful when your Address Book contains many contacts.
In the Messenger window, click the Address Book tab.
Tip: Pressing <Ctrl><Tab> on your keyboard toggles the display between the Messenger tab and the Address Book tab.
In the Find field, begin typing the contact's name as it appears in the list—first name, last name, nickname, or Yahoo! ID. As you type, Messenger filters the list to match your input.

Note: When searching for a contact, Messenger looks through the displayed name, which could be the first name, last name, first name and last name, nickname, or Yahoo! ID. Be sure you search on the displayed name. For example, if the Address Book displays "Haly Keim," enter "Haly" in the Find field followed by "Keim" if necessary. Entering Haly Keim's Yahoo! ID will fail.
Tip: The Address Book tab sorts contacts by first name if known while your Yahoo! Address Book allows you to choose how you want to sort—first name, last name, or email.
To clear the search and show all contacts, click the Clear button.

If you haven't found your friend, perhaps you need to add this person to your Address Book.
