Sending Messages Using Disposable Addresses

When you reply to an email sent to one of your disposable addresses, Yahoo! Mail Plus automatically uses that disposable address as the From address. Neither your name nor your primary Yahoo! Mail Plus address is not revealed, unless you manually choose to use them in your reply.

You can also protect your main Yahoo! Mail Plus address by using a disposable address when you send a new message. To do this, you must be sure that the disposable address is enabled for sending email.

 

Here’s How

  1. Go to the AddressGuard page in the Yahoo! Mail. (Remind me how.)

  2. Select the address that you want to use for sending messages in the list of disposable addresses.

    The options summary for the address shows you if it can be used for sending messages.

    The address's preferences show that mail cannot be sent from the address.

    If the disposable address you want to use does not permit sending messages, you need to change this option.

  3. With the address selected in the list, click the Edit button.

    Click the Edit button to change preferences for the selected address.

  4. On the Edit Disposable Address page, select the Allow mail to be sent from this address option.

    Check the Allow mail to be sent from this address option and, optionally, provide a name to use in the From header.Enlarge

  5. If you want, you can also specify the name that will appear in the From header of messages that you send using this address.

  6. Click the Save Changes button to update the options for this disposable address.

    This address now appears in the From menu on the Yahoo! Mail New Email Message tab. You can choose it instead of your regular Yahoo! Mail Plus address whenever you compose a new message.

    Select the disposable address that you want to use from the From menu.
