I've just opened my store, how can I get some traffic?

  • Visit the detailed Yahoo! Marketing Tools to learn more about the various opportunites to expand your business reach.

  • Look within your store and analyze the product name and the first two lines of the product description. These two things (name and description) are very important since that is what the Yahoo! Shopping search engine uses to find your products. Be as descriptive as possible when describing your products.

  • If you are not already listed in the Yahoo! Directory, use Yahoo! Directory Submit for an expedited review of your site ($299 annual fee). Once your web site is in the Yahoo! Directory, you can participate in the Yahoo! Sponsor Listings service.

  • Go to the Promote column on your Store Manager page, and click on the "Search Engines" link to learn more about submitting your store to search engines. We recommend Search Engine Watch, an unbiased, up-to-date resource for search engine news, submission tips, and strategies.

  • Get other web sites to send you traffic through incentives. Find out more about trackable links.

  • Use the Yahoo! Store coupon feature, and send offers via email using our email feature in the Promote section. Be sure to comply with our spam policy.

  • Check out the Statistics section within your Store Manager. Look at the "Shopping Searches" link to see what's hot and modify your product line accordingly.

  • List your store in Yahoo! Yellow Pages and get an enhanced listing.

  • Advertise in Yahoo!. If your budget is approximately $1,000 per month (with a three-month minimum), our advertising department can put together a package for you.
