Item pages typically consist of a single large image accompanied an "Order" button and text that describes the item.
In the toolbar at the bottom of your Section page, you'll see a "New Item" button. Click on "New Item" to go to a page with fields where you enter information to determine the look of your Item page.
These fields are called: Name, Caption, Code, and Price.
In the "Name" field, enter the name of your Item. For example: Gadget.
In the "Code" field, enter the Item's SKU, stock number, ISBN, or any other code you use to identify your products. You can use any format you want. For example: X123.
In the "Price" field, enter the item's price. You can include a dollar sign. For quantity pricing, you can use several numbers -- 12 2 20 10 80 means 1 for $12, 2 for $20, or 10 for $80.
Just as you did on the Section page, use the "Caption" field on the Item page to add descriptive text for your product. Type whatever you want. If you enter several paragraphs of text, use blank lines to separate them.
Tip: When you enter text into the fields, use a carriage return whenever you get near the edge of the field, so that you can see all your text. These carriage returns won't be visible when you publish your web pages.
When you're done, click on the "Update" button to view the page for your new "Item."
In the toolbar at the bottom of the Item page, you'll see a "Special" button. Click on the "Special" button if you wish to feature this Item on the front page of your store. To remove a "Special" from your home page, you need to click on the "Not Special" button on the toolbar at the bottom of the Item page.
Here's how to add another Item page to the Section. In the lower left of your new Item page, you'll see an "Up" button. This button always leads to a Section page. Click "Up" until you get to your Section page.
When you return to the Section page, you'll now see a link to the Item page you just created.
To create a new Item page in the same section, click on "New Item" again and fill out the fields to describe this next item. Then click on "Update" to see your second Item page.
Any time you want to add an item, first go to the Section where it should appear. (Go to the front page if you are not using Sections). Click on "New Item."
From the Edit page, you can click the "Help" button at the top for definitions of all the fields listed.
