Downloading and Installing Yahoo! Autosync

Yahoo! Autosync is not automatically packaged with AT&T Mail. You must download and install it on your computer.

 

Here’s How

  1. If you have Intellisync for Yahoo! installed, uninstall it.

  2. Back up the data from your PIMs. Refer to the help for each device or application.

  3. Ensure that your time zone is set correctly in your Yahoo! account. You can check this out here.

  4. Open your Yahoo! Address BookLearn more

  5. Click the Sync link on the top-right side of the page.

    Click the Sync link.

  6. On the next page, click the Go to download Yahoo! Autosync link under Sync with Outlook, Outlook Express or Palm Desktop.

    Click "Go to download Yahoo! Autosync".

  7. Click the Install Now button.

    Click the Install Now button.

  8. Read the downloading instructions and the end-user license agreement, and then click I Accept at the bottom of the page.

    Click I Accept.

  9. In the window that opens, click the Run button.

    Yahoo! saves the file in a temporary folder. When it finishes, a new window asks if you want to run the installation software.

  10. Click the Run button.

    The Yahoo! Autosync Install Wizard opens.

  11. Click the Next button to begin the installation, then follow the wizard’s instructions to install Yahoo! Autosync.

  12. When the installation process completes, click the Finish button to launch Autosync.

  13. Set your synchronization preferences.

 

What’s Next

After installing Yahoo! Autosync, you’ll see two Autosync icons; one on the taskbar, and one on the desktop. You’ll use the taskbar icon to manually initiate the syncing operation, change your preferences, change your ID and password, and more. You’ll use the desktop icon infrequently, if at all, to manually start the Autosync application should it close down for some reason (Autosync always starts when you restart your computer).

Use the taskbar icon to perform various Autosync tasks. Use the desktop icon to restart the Autosync application.
