The Yahoo! Mail SMTP server requires authentication. Select your specific client below to enable this setting:
Microsoft Outlook 2002 (XP) and 2003
- From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
- Select the "Mail" tab.
- Select your AT&T Yahoo! Business Email account and click "Properties."
- Click on the "Servers" tab.
- Check the box next to "My Server Requires Authentication."
- Click "OK."
Note: Please make sure that "Log on using Secure Password Authentication" is not checked.
Microsoft Outlook 98 and 2000
- From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
- Select the "Mail" tab.
- Select your AT&T Yahoo! Business Email account and click "Properties."
- Click on the "Servers" tab.
- Check the box next to "My Server Requires Authentication."
- Click "OK."
Note: Please make sure that "Log on using Secure Password Authentication" is not checked.
Microsoft Outlook Express
- From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
- Select the "Mail" tab.
- Double-click the account labeled "pop.bizmail.yahoo.com."
- Select the "Servers" tab.
- Check the box next to "My Server Requires Authentication."
- Click "OK."
Microsoft Outlook Express for Macintosh
- From the Tools menu, select "Accounts."
- Double-click on your AT&T Yahoo! Business Email account.
- Under "Sending Mail," you will see "Click here for advanced server settings." Click this to open the settings.
- Check the box next to "SMTP server requires authentication."
- Click "OK."
IncrediMail 618 and Higher
- From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
- Select your AT&T Yahoo! Business Email account and click the "Properties" button.
- Click on the "Servers" tab.
- Under Outgoing Mail Server, check the box next to "My Server Requires Authentication."
- Click "OK," then "Close" on the Mail Accounts window.
Microsoft Entourage 2001
- Open Entourage and click "Tools."
- Select "Accounts" from the pull-down menu.
- Double-click your AT&T Yahoo! Business Email account.
- On the Account Settings window, scroll to the "Sending Mail" category toward the bottom.
- Click on "Click here for Advanced Sending Options."
- Check the box next to "SMTP Server Requires Authentication."
- Close this window by clicking the box in the upper-left corner.
- Click "OK."
To ensure that the new settings are configured properly, we suggest that you close Entourage and reopen it before attempting to send or receive messages.
