In Yahoo! Messenger, you and your friends can can share photos in an instant messaging conversation. Your photos will appear together in the same space in your message windows.

To start photo sharing during an IM conversation:

  1. Click the "Photos" button in the message window's tool bar, or open the "Actions" menu and click "Share Photos." (If there are no buttons visible underneath the menus at the top of the message window, open the "View" menu and click "Conversation Toolbar.")
  2. Your contact will see a your invitation to start photo sharing. This message will have links letting the other person "Accept" or "Decline" your invitation. If the person accepts, you will see a confirmation message and a photo panel will open to the right of the messaging area, both in your and your friend's message windows. If the person declines, you will receive that message, and the photo panel will not open.
  3. When the photo panel is open, you can add photos to the messaging window. You and your friend will immediately see the photos in the photo panel to the right of the IMs you and your friend have exchanged. You can continue writing messages as you look at the photos.
