If you want to remove publishing privileges for all authors in a subweb, but you don't want to delete that directory and its contents from your account, you may want to deactivate FrontPage publishing in that subweb instead. Deactivating will eliminate FrontPage publishing access in that directory while preserving the directory and its contents in your hosting account.
You can also deactivate FrontPage publishing in your entire site. Learn how.
Please note that deactivating removes your FrontPage extensions from that subweb. Although your pages and other files will be undamaged, certain functionality related to those extensions could fail, causing errors on your pages. Please be sure to review your site carefully after you deactivate.
To deactivate FrontPage publishing in a subweb:
1. Click the "FrontPage" link on the Create & Update tab of your GeoCities Control Panel.
2. Click the "Manage Site" link.

3. Locate the subweb you want to deactivate and click the corresponding "Deactivate" link.

4. If you're sure you want to deactivate FrontPage publishing in this subweb, choose "Deactivate Subweb."
