When attempting to activate FrontPage or add an author, you may receive the following error message:
Sorry, FrontPage activation failed.
Error #2001d: Theme path doesn't exist (<theme name> not found).
You will generally encounter this error if you uploaded files that you created in FrontPage before you tried to activate FrontPage publishing for use with your GeoCities account. One or more of the pages you uploaded includes references to FrontPage themes, and the theme files are missing.
When you activate FrontPage, it installs files called server extensions in your web site directory; these files are essential to publishing your site with FrontPage. If you upload web pages you created in FrontPage without activating first, some server extensions may not be installed. If any of your files reference these missing extensions (such as themes), the FrontPage publishing tool will not be able to read them properly. Activation will fail, creating the error message you encountered.
To solve the problem, please try one of these options:
When you're finished, please try activating FrontPage again.
If you want to use FrontPage to create your web site, please be sure to activate before you create your web pages to ensure that they include all of the required settings and extensions; then use FrontPage to publish your web site. We strongly recommend that you do not use FrontPage with any other site building tool or FTP. Learn more.
