I'm receiving a server error when publishing. What's wrong?

Your FrontPage settings may be incorrect.
Check your settings to make sure you have specified the correct publishing destination.

  1. In the File menu, click "Publish Web."
  2. In the "Specify the location to publish your web to" box, enter your site's web address like this: http://widgetdesigns.com (do not include www).
  3. Choose "Options."
  4. Specify whether you want to publish only pages that have changed or all pages.
  5. Click "Publish."

You may have disabled FrontPage publishing.
Attempting to publish when FrontPage publishing is disabled may generate one of the following error messages:

  • Server error: Cannot open "yapache.fp.conf": no such file or folder.
  • Server error: Authoring is disabled for this server. Contact your server administrator to enable authoring.

To restore FrontPage publishing, click the "FrontPage" link on the Create & Update tab of your GeoCities Control Panel. From the Manage Publishing area, click "Restore Publishing." Learn more.

You have not activated FrontPage for use with your GeoCities account.
Attempting to publish a FrontPage site without first activating FrontPage may generate the following error messages:

  • The server could not complete your request. Contact your Internet service provider or web server administrator to make sure that the server has the FrontPage Server Extensions or Share Point Team Services from Microsoft installed. For more specific information, click the "Details" button.
  • Sorry, FrontPage activation failed. Error #2001d: Theme path doesn't exist (<theme name> not found).
