What is SpamGuard Plus?

SpamGuard Plus is a feature that automatically filters suspected spam to your Bulk folder. But SpamGuard Plus also learns specifically what you consider spam and not spam, and filters those messages to the appropriate folder. The more you train the filters by marking spam or not spam, the better the filters will work for you. This feature is available only to those users with Webmail and POP access to their mailboxes.

Note: Now you can choose how long you want to keep messages in the Bulk folder.

Can I reset my SpamGuard Plus filter?

Yes. The "Reset Filter" link on the Spam Protection page will reset your SpamGuard Plus filter.

To access this page, sign in to your Yahoo! Business Email account, then click the "Mail Options" link in the upper-right area of the page. Select "Spam Protection." The "Reset Filter" link is located toward the top of the page.

Clicking this link will erase all of the training you have given SpamGuard Plus by marking messages as spam or not spam. We recommend using this option carefully.

Can I control the deletion of bulk messages?

You can choose how long you want to keep messages in your Bulk folder. You can choose to immediately delete bulk mail upon receipt or keep messages for one week, two weeks, or one month. The default setting is one month.

To edit this feature:

  1. Click "Mail Options," located near the top-right corner of the mail main page, then choose "Spam Protection."
  2. Select the radio button next to "Save these messages in the Bulk Folder."
  3. Choose a desired time frame from the pull-down menu to the right of this option.
  4. Click "Save Changes."

Important: Occasionally valid email messages may be perceived as spam and delivered to the Bulk folder. Please note that if you select the "Delete immediately" option, you will not have an opportunity to review the messages in your Bulk folder before they are deleted.
