Using PC-to-PC Calling

Placing a PC-to-PC Call Leaving a Voice Message Receiving a PC-to-PC Call Placing a Call on Hold

Leaving a Voice Message

If you place a call and the contact you’re calling isn’t available or doesn’t accept the call for any reason, you can record a voice message.

Here’s How

  1. Place your call. (Remind me how.)

After several rings, a prompt tells you to record your message after the beep.

  2. After the prompt, record your message, then click the Send button.

    Click the Send button.

BT Yahoo! Messenger sends your voice message to your contact and ends the call.

If your contact’s message box is full when you try to send a voice message, you’ll see a notification in the conversation area of the IM window and you won’t be able to leave a message.

A message tells you that the recipient's inbox is full.

Tip: You must stay connected to the Internet until you see confirmation that Messenger has finished sending the voice message; otherwise, the other person won’t receive the message.

  3. If you make a mistake and want to record a new message, click the Cancel button, then immediately click the Re-record button. When you’re satisfied with the message, click the Send button.

    Click the Cancel button.

    Immediately click the Re-record button.

To have Messenger cancel or end the call, don’t click the Re-record button.
