Using Disposable Addresses

Getting Started Creating Disposable Addresses Using Disposable Addresses Deleting Disposable Addresses

Creating Additional Disposable Addresses

Using the base name that you choose when you set up AddressGuard, you can create new disposable addresses whenever you need them. By default, BT Yahoo! Mail delivers messages sent to your disposable addresses to your Inbox along with messages sent to your “real” BT Yahoo! Mail address. However, when you create a disposable address, you can specify how you should receive messages for that address.

You can choose the following delivery options for each disposable address:

  • Deliver to: Choose a personal folder where you want to direct all messages sent to this disposable address. The default delivery folder is Inbox.
  • Indicator: Assign a colour code to all messages sent to this disposable address. This colour code shows up next to the sender's name in the delivery folder. The default is no colour.
  • Notes: Add a note to help you remember the purpose of this disposable address. For example, you can make note of the web site for which you created it.
  • Allow messages to be sent from this address: Check this option if you want to use this address to send email messages from BT Yahoo! Mail. The default is not to allow sending messages.
  • Use filters: Check this option if you want BT Yahoo! Mail to apply your personal filters to the messages before delivering them. The default is to use filters.
  • Use SpamGuard Plus: Check this option if you want SpamGuard Plus to filter all messages sent to your disposable address. If SpamGuard Plus identifies a message as spam, it delivers the message to your Bulk folder, even though you set the Deliver to option for this address to a personal folder. The default is to use SpamGuard Plus.

If you want to receive all messages sent to this disposable address in the folder you specified, even if they are spam, uncheck this option.

If you select both the Use filters and the Use SpamGuard Plus options, BT Yahoo! Mail tries to apply your personal filters first, then the SpamGuard Plus filter. If none of these filters apply, BT Yahoo! Mail delivers the messages to the destination folder that you've designated.
