Creating User-Specific Desktop Icons

If multiple people use your computer or if you have more than one Yahoo! ID or BT Username, you can create a desktop icon for each user to make signing in quick and easy. Whatever options you specify on the Sign In window are built in to your desktop icon. For example, if you specify that the Browser should save your password and/or sign you in to BT Yahoo! Messenger, those options are activated when you use your desktop icon to sign in. With one click, you can sign in to BT Yahoo! Online and Messenger and have your whole environment available.

Here's How

  1. Sign in to BT Yahoo! Online as one of the users. (Remind me how.)

  2. Select Sign In Options from the Sign In menu.

    Select Sign In Options

The Browser Options window appears with the Sign In options selected.

  3. Check the box next to Show a Desktop Icon...

  4. Click the OK button.

The icon appears on your desktop labelled with the user's real first name and Username.

  5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 to create each user's desktop icon.

What's Next

Once you have your own desktop icon, you can simply double-click it to sign in and open the Browser.
