Setting BT Yahoo! Browser Options

Sign Out, Sign In, and Startup Options

You can change the sign in, sign out, and startup options for the Browser to suit your preferences.

 

Here's How

    Open the Browser Options window. (Remind me how.) Then:

    To specify your sign out options:

    1. Select the Sign Out category.

      Select Sign Out

      The Sign Out options appear. This pane allows you to specify whether you want to enable either of the Browser's automated sign out options.

      To configure the Browser to warn you when you try to exit with more than one tab open, check the box next to Warn when closing multiple tabs.

    2. In the When BT Yahoo! Browser exits section, select the radio button next to the action you want the Browser to perform when you close it:

      • If you want to remain signed in when you close the browser, select Leave me signed in.
      • If you always want to sign out of all BT Yahoo! Online services when you close the browser, select Automatically sign me out.
      • If you want the Browser to prompt you about signing out when you close it, select Prompt me to sign out.

    3. In the When BT Yahoo! Browser signs out section, check the box next to Automatically sign out of Messenger if you want to automatically sign out of Messenger when you sign out of the Browser.

    To specify your sign in options:

    1. Select the Sign In category.

      The Sign In options appear. This pane allows you to specify whether you want to enable any of the Browser's automated sign in options.

      If you are the main account user, the Sign In pane looks like this:

      If you are a guest (including sub accounts), the Sign In pane looks like this:

    2. Check the box next to each option to enable it:

      • Save My Password – Check this box to save your password, so you do not have to enter it every time you sign in.
      • Show a Desktop Icon to start the BT Yahoo! Browser for Yourname – Check this box to create a desktop icon that makes signing in quick and easy.
      • Sign In to Messenger – Check this box to automatically sign in to Messenger each time you sign in to BT Yahoo! Online.
      • Remove this Guest from Sign In List – Check this box to delete your current sign-in information from the sign-in list. If you check this box, the next time you sign in, your name will not appear on the sign-in list. (This option appears only if you are not the main account user.)

    3. If you are the main account user, you can click the All Users button to change the sign-in options for any other user.

    4. Select the users whose options you want to change, check or uncheck the desired options; then click the Save Settings button.

    To specify your startup options:

    1. Select the Startup category.

      Select Startup

      The Startup options appear. This pane allows you to specify the conditions under which you want the Sign In window to appear when you start up the Browser.

    2. Click the radio button next to the action you want the Browser to perform when you start up the Browser.

    3. When you finish specifying your preferences, click the OK button.

      Click OK

      You return to the Browser.
