Using the Address Book Sidebar Module

Overview

The BT Yahoo! Address Book is an online contact manager that helps you organise and communicate with people you know. It is similar to a paper or desktop address book but with many more features and functions. You use the BT Yahoo! Address Book to store all of your contact information about individuals and companies. Because the BT Yahoo! Address Book is online, you can access it with an Internet connection from anywhere in the world.

The Address Book Sidebar module allows you to access the contacts in your BT Yahoo! Address Book from the Sidebar while you are browsing the Internet. It has two views:

Collapsed as a mini-module

The Address Book mini-module serves as a button that you can click to make Address Book the active Sidebar module.
Expanded as the active module

You can display and edit contact information using the Address Book Sidebar module.

Here's How

Open your Browser, sign in to the BT Yahoo! Online, and make sure that the Sidebar is open and that Address Book is the active module.
Hold your mouse over a contact's name to display that person's contact information in a pop-up box.

As soon as you move the mouse away, the pop-up box disappears.
Click a contact's name to display the contact information for that person in a pop-up window.
Click a contact's name in the pop-up window to add or edit that contact's information on the standard Edit Contact page.

Words to Know

Active module: the module currently displayed in the active content area of the BT Yahoo! Sidebar.
Address Book: a listing of people and their contact information associated with each BT Yahoo! Online account.
Contact: a person you know and might want to send an email message or other form of communication to.
Module: a small version of a BT Yahoo! Online service that can be displayed in the active content area of the BT Yahoo! Sidebar.
Mini-module: an application module that can be displayed in the BT Yahoo! Sidebar.
Sidebar: a customisable area in the BT Yahoo! Browser or Internet Explorer where you can display information or applications that you use often, such as BT Yahoo! Mail, BT Yahoo! Messenger, and BT Yahoo! Photos.
