Introducing BT Yahoo! Mail

BT Yahoo! Mail is an email application that makes it easy to send and receive email messages over the Internet. You may have another email account at work or school, but with BT Yahoo! Mail you can send and receive email from any computer with Internet access, anywhere in the world. Plus, your BT Yahoo! Mail account comes with access to BT Yahoo! Contacts, BT Yahoo! Calendar, and BT Yahoo! Notepad. And you have unlimited mail storage with BT Yahoo! Mail!

It’s easy to begin using BT Yahoo! Mail—just open a web browser and get started!

 

Here’s How

  1. Make sure that the computer you are using is connected to the Internet.

  2. Open a Web browser, such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.  Learn more

  3. Type the following address in the browser’s address box, and press Enter:

    http://bt.yahoo.com/mail

    The BT Yahoo! sign-in page opens in the browser.

  4. Type your BT Yahoo! email address (for example, username@btinternet.com) and password, then click the Sign In button.

    Type your BT Yahoo! email address and password, then click the Sign In button.

    BT Yahoo! Mail appears in the browser and displays your Mail Home page.

    Note: If your mail screen doesn’t look like this, you’re probably using BT Yahoo! Mail Classic instead of the All-New BT Yahoo! Mail. You can either go to the tutorials for BT Yahoo! Mail Classic or learn how to switch to the All-New BT Yahoo! Mail.

 

What’s Next

Prefer to Use BT Yahoo! Mail Classic?

There may be times when you prefer to use BT Yahoo! Mail Classic, such as when you have slower internet connection. It’s easy to switch back and forth between BT Yahoo! Mail and BT Yahoo! Mail Classic as often as you want.

  1. To switch from BT Yahoo! Mail to BT Yahoo! Mail Classic, click the Mail Classic link at the top of the window, just below your user name.

    Click the Mail Classic link to use BT Yahoo! Mail Classic.

  2. In the window that appears, click the Switch to BT Yahoo! Mail Classic button to confirm that you want to leave the new BT Yahoo! Mail for now.

    Click the Switch to BT Yahoo! Mail Classic button.

    This takes you the version of BT Yahoo! Mail that you’re already familiar with.

  3. When you’re ready to come back to the All-New BT Yahoo! Mail, use one of these links:

    • Click the All-New Mail link in the upper right corner of the BT Yahoo! Mail Classic page.

      Click the All-New Mail link.

    • Click the Options link in the upper right corner of the BT Yahoo! Mail Classic page.

      Click the Options link.

      On the Options page, click the Try it now! link to return to the new BT Yahoo! Mail.

      Click the Try it now! link.

  • BT Username: the name--in the form of someone@btinternet.com or someone@openworld.com--by which a person is known to the BT Yahoo! network.
  • BT Yahoo! Contacts: a listing of people and their email addresses associated with each BT Yahoo! Mail account; also known as Address Book.
  • Disposable email address: a customised email address that you create using AddressGuard to protect your regular BT Yahoo! Mail address.
  • Folder: a container that holds individual elements specific to the context; for example, email messages in BT Yahoo! Mail or bookmarks in the Bookmarks Sidebar module.
  • Spam: unsolicited email on the Internet; also called "junk mail".
  • Spam folder: a permanent folder that SpamGuard uses to hold messages it considers spam.
