Do you often send email to a group of contacts? Do you send email to that same group of contacts on a regular basis? If you answered yes to these questions, then you might want to group these contacts into a category so that you can easily send emails to the same group over and over. A category is a list (small or large) of contacts from your BT Yahoo! Address Book. Use categories to:
Send the same email to more than one person at the same time. For example, you can send one "Let’s Party" email to your Friends category, or one "Meeting Agenda" email to your Work category. You can send the email to all in the category or a selected few. The Working With Categories tutorial shows you how.
Organise contacts for easier viewing. For example, a Family category could contain contact information for members of your family and a Work category could contain information for the people at work. You can even print contact information by category as shown in the Advanced Address Book Tasks tutorial.
The BT Yahoo! Address Book includes several predefined categories:
Note: You cannot send email to the BT Yahoo!-defined categories. Of course you can send emails to the contacts listed in these categories.
Each contact is automatically included in the All category. You can also add a contact in as many of your own categories as you like, so a Work contact can also be a Friends contact. You can have up to 1000 categories in your BT Yahoo! Address Book each containing up to 100 contacts, so don’t be stingy.
This tutorial shows you how to create categories and how to add contacts to your categories. The Working With Categories tutorial shows you can use categories, including how to send an email to a category.
