Campaigns

Use the Campaigns page to search for and view campaigns in your account and to review the performance statistics associated with those campaigns. You can search for campaigns by various campaign attributes such as name, CTR, or cost and compare statistics across your campaigns. You may wish to use the results of your existing campaigns to shape your campaign strategy. If you have multiple campaigns, you can make changes to one or more campaigns at a time from the Campaigns page.

Understanding Campaign Status

The Status column on the Campaigns page contains information to show you the current status of the campaign. For more information on statuses, refer to the Statuses help topic.

Downloading Campaigns

For instructions on downloading campaigns, refer to the Downloading Component Data topic.

Creating Campaigns

To create a campaign:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Select the Create Campaign button. The Create a Campaign page opens.

  3. Follow the instructions in the Create a Campaign page to create a new campaign.

Setting Date Ranges

To set a date range for campaign statistics:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Select the calendar icon. The Select Date dialog box opens.

  3. In the Select Date dialog box, select a start date from the calendar on the left and an end date from the calendar on the right.

  4. Click Apply.

  5. The dates you selected are applied to the Campaigns page. The campaign statistics and the performance graph will only display data within the selected date range.

Searching for Campaigns

To search for a campaign:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Enter all or part of a campaign name in the search box.

  3. Click the Search button to retrieve results. The search results will display all campaigns that contain your search term in the campaign name.

  4. In the table, click the column name in any column header to sort by that statistic. You can sort by:

    • Impressions
    • CTR
    • Clicks
    • Average Cost Per Click

    If you have Full Analytics enabled, you can also sort by:

    • Cost
    • Assists
    • Conversions
    • Revenue
    • CPA
    • ROAS

  5. Click Clear Search to return to the default campaigns list.

Searching for Campaigns with Advanced Search

To search for a campaign using advanced search:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Click Advanced Search.

  3. Enter criteria for your search (you can enter as many advanced search criteria as you wish).

  4. Click the Search button to retrieve your campaign search results.

Note: Click the column name in any column header to sort your search results by that statistic.

Advanced Search Examples

To search for campaigns with campaign status Active and more than 1000 impressions whose name starts with the word "Free":

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Click Advanced Search. The Advanced Search dialog box opens.

  3. Select Starts With from the Name dropdown menu and enter the word “Free” in the Name field.

  4. In the Status list, select Active.

  5. In the Impressions From field, enter 1000.

  6. In the Impressions To field, do not enter a value.

  7. Click the Search button.

To search for all incomplete campaigns:

  1. Open the Campaigns page.

  2. Click Advanced Search. The Advanced Search dialog box opens.

  3. Select Incomplete in the Edit Status list.

  4. Click the Search button.

To search for campaigns on your watch list that have generated alerts:

  1. Open the Campaigns page.

  2. Click Advanced Search. The Advanced Search dialog box opens.

  3. In the Watch List menu, select On.

  4. In the Alerts field, select Yes.

Changing Campaign Status

To change campaign status:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Select the checkboxes that correspond to the campaigns to edit.

  3. Click the Pause or Unpause button, depending on the change you want to make.

  4. When the confirmation dialog box opens, click Submit to apply your changes.

Note: If you unpause a campaign that has become inactive because of another circumstance (for example, if the campaign has expired), then the campaign will still remain inactive until the circumstance is corrected.

Using Watch Lists

To add or remove campaigns from your watch list:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Select the checkboxes that correspond to the campaigns to add or remove.

  3. Click the Edit Watch List button. The Edit Watch List dialog box opens.

  4. In the Watch Selected Campaigns field, select Yes or No.

  5. Click the Submit button to apply your changes.

Editing Distribution Tactics

To edit the distribution tactics of your campaigns:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Select the checkboxes that correspond to the campaigns to edit.

  3. Click the Select Tactic button. The Select Distribution Tactics dialog box opens.

  4. In the Sponsored Search status and Content Match status fields, select On or Off.

  5. In the Match Type field, select Advanced or Standard.

  6. Click Save Changes to apply the new distribution tactic settings to the selected campaigns.

Using Performance Graphs

To use the campaign performance graph:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Set the graph date range using the calendar buttons (see How to set a date range for campaign statistics above).

  3. Click the graph icon.

  4. Select the type of graph to view from the Graph dropdown menu in the Performance tab of the Account Information panel. You can view the following graphs.

    • Impressions
    • Clicks
    • Conversions
    • Revenue
    • Cost

To view additional details for any campaign in your account, click the campaign name in the Campaigns page. The Campaign Details page for the selected campaign opens.
