The Phone field on the Detailed Search form is used to find information about a business if you have its telephone number. This service is sometimes referred to as a \"Reverse Directory.\" You can also enter just a partial telephone number in order to narrow down your search to a particular area.

Tips for using the Phone field:

• Entering the full telephone number -- 3-digit area code, 3-digit exchange number, and 4-digit line number -- will match one specific business listing (if that listing is included in the Business Finder service). Use this method if you have a phone number and want to find the address.

• Entering a partial telephone number -- at least the area code plus a 3-digit exchange number -- will match all businesses within that particular exchange. It is one way to limit a search but is best combined with other search criteria such as Category and/or Business Name.

• If you want your search to include more than one area code, enter the appropriate numbers followed by commas, for example Area code: 617, 203.
