Can I have multiple accounts on one computer?

There are two ways to do this. You can either have one Yahoo! ID with several aliases, or you can keep two separate accounts, each with their own Yahoo! ID. Adding an alias will allow you to Chat with another name.

Editing / Creating An Alias
You can't change your Yahoo! ID, unless you open a new account, but you can add new identities for chat. Just click the \"add/change profile\" link on the Welcome page and then the Create New Public Profile button. Make sure to scroll to the bottom of the edit page and click on the Save Changes button.

An alias consists of a name and some information that you show to other chatters on Yahoo! Canada Chat. When a user clicks \"Who's Online\", they can view the information you fill out. You may create up to 5 separate identities - when you enter chat you must select one. Before you enter chat or at any time during chat, you may Edit your current alias or Create a new alias. The only mandatory field is the actual \"name\" - all other information (such as occupation, sex, age, etc.) is optional.

Important: Do NOT reveal any information on your alias that you wouldn't want the world to know (phone numbers, address, etc.).

To Open Another Account
  1. Go to the front page of chat at http://ca.chat.yahoo.com/
  2. Click on the Sign Out link at the top of the page, under the Yahoo! Canada Chat banner. This will take you back to the Login page.
  3. Click on the Get Registered button and follow the instructions to create a new account.

NOTE: If you have two accounts on one computer, you will need to click the Sign Out link when you wish to switch between them. This will take you back to the Login page where you can enter the other Yahoo! ID and its Password.
