First, I cannot transfer ownership from last years team unless they reenlist. I do not need a replacement if they reenlist. If i have someone else take the name then they are not renewing and they cannot post their keeper selections. This also applies if someone leaves the league before you can do the exchange. The commish needs to be able to go back to last season to transfer ownership or keeper leagues cannot be done properly.
