I had similar issues trying to connect to GIN ... finally corrected the problem by uninstalling JAVA 7 from my computer ... YAHOO GAMES works with JAVA 6 ... all the connection issues apparently became evident when computers 'automatically' or manually were upgraded to JAVA 7 ...
