The option for larger rosters and minor league rosters would only apply to private custom leagues. The standard public leagues would remain the same as always.

Many people prefer to form their own custom leagues with a commissioner and their own scoring system. Having the option to have larger rosters would make dynasty leagues work much better. CBS and ESPN offer this option and Yahoo does not.

Playing in private leagues is much more fun than public leagues because you can invite your friends to play with you instead of playing with a bunch of complete strangers on the Internet, most of whom are clueless kids that quit paying attention as soon as they realize they are not going to win. Winning a public league is way too easy, which makes it boring. Beating up on anonymous strangers is not much fun. Beating up on your friends is a blast!

I play in three dynasty leagues here on Yahoo and all 36 of our team owners are smart, dedicated fantasy baseball players. We don't have to worry about people quitting mid-season. We have 30 man rosters and 5 DL slots and there are still plenty of desirable players on the Free Agent list. In a dynasty league, minor league players are highly sought after. If you add Holds as a category it opens up all the middle relievers and set-up men as valuable fantasy players too. If you use custom settings it makes the game much more challenging and fun compared to just the basic rules used in public leagues. Try it, you will like it.

If you prefer the normal rules it is OK. This added option will not affect your league unless you want it to.
