Pro Fantasy Basketball League #119074...............I can't help but laugh. This league has experienced collusion, vulgarity, and worst of all, it has experienced Yahoo violating its own rules. When I first noticed this, I went straight to the Better Business Bureau and put in a complaint. I demanded a refund. Yahoo admitted their fault and issued my refund..................That was 2 months ago.......They still have not informed the rest of the league that there is one team STILL IN THE LEAGUE, ineligible for cash prizes. Yahoo admittedly violated its own rules, and has not offered the other eleven teams a refund. They did, block me from e-mailing and trading though...........Why? Because they do not want me getting in touch with the other team owners and informing them of what happened. They still want to unfairly and illegally keep their money................ I am a man of honor and integrity. I made a commitment to this league and I don't quit at anything. Even with no prize at stake, I am still going to try my best to win. And what if I do? Yahoo keeps everyone else's money, and pays out nothing to the League Champion.................Why is it that I can still make adjustments to my team, and pick up free agents, but I cannot e-mail or trade? It is strictly so I don't share this information with the rest of the league. How would you feel if you found out that there was one team in your league, that received a refund (for Yahoo violating its own rules), and not only are they still picking up free agents that you may need, but you are not even allowed to trade with them. Some people depend on trades in these leagues.........They sure as hell don't think there is going to be a team in the league with nothing to lose...............The legal, proper way of handling this is as follows.................Inform the entire league of the refund that was issued. Apologize and then refund the rest of the league. Turn the league into a "Free League" and allow every team to compete fairly for the League Championship..............Yahoo does not belong in sports. They are clueless and obviously do not know what they are doing. Their trade policies are flawed........They state that all trades will go through after 48 hours, however, anyone who has ever played in their leagues, knows that to be false. When I complained about their trade policies and veto policy through the BBB, they sent me a set of  "rules" that were not the same as the ones on the website.................PULL YOUR MONEY OUT NOW, I AM NOT CRAZY. I AM ONE OF THE NORMAL ONES. I AM A 32 YEAR OLD SALESMAN, THAT LEADS A VERY NORMAL LIFE. I HAVE MY OWN APARTMENT, I LIKE GIRLS, I WATCH FOOTBALL EVERY SUNDAY (EVEN THOUGH IM A JETS FAN) AND I RUN A FACEBOOK PAGE CALLED "PROUD TO BE A SMART MARK" FOR WRESTLING FANS. MY FAMILY LOVES ME AND I AM DRUG AND ALCOHOL FREE......DO NOT THINK I AM JUST AN ANGRY NUTCASE, BECAUSE I AM NOT............. THEY ARE DISHONEST AND WORSE THAN THIEVES. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. IF YOU WANT TO KNOW THE VIOLATIONS I HAVE FOUND IN THEIR LEAGUES, LET ME KNOW.

Hi Denis,

I'm sorry to hear about this frustrating situation, and your dissatisfaction with our new Pro League efforts. It's understandable that you are concerned with the legitimacy of rules in use, based on your view of how we handled your concerns. We did apologize for the lack of clarity on our trade policy, something we've worked to resolve since. We also refunded, at your request, the purchase of your pro league team as an attempt to resolve some of your dissatisfaction.

To address the concerns you stated:

Yahoo! review trade policy: As you mentioned, anyone familiar with the trade review process knows that a trade does not process directly after the deadline. Granted, if the trade is not protested, it will.

However, we cannot review a protested trade while the deadline to protest the trade is still in effect. We would then be required to review every trade, protested or not, since we could not determine prior to the deadline that the trade would not be protested. Consequently, a 24 hour review period is required for a Yahoo! Fantasy Expert to make a determination on any submitted protest.

This policy was documented prior to you reporting the issue here:

How long it takes to process a trade

The issue was that it was not cascaded through all the related content on the Yahoo! Trade Review process, which we became keenly aware of once you contacted us. I do appreciate your help in identifying this issue.

Locking of league privileges : Regardless of the circumstances surrounding an issue, if a manager is found in violation of our Fair Play and Sportsmanship Policy, we retain the right to take action as outlined. Your team was locked based solely on a violation of this policy. The very first action listed is:

The suspension of specific game privileges (trading, message board posting, etc.) for the remainder of the season.

While any violation could result in locking to the fullest extent, we typically just remove the ability to continue communicating with the league, if the lock is specific to vulgar or inappropriate commenting/posting in a public league. Because the trade feature allows for commenting, we are required to lock this avenue of posting as well.

I know that these are likely not the answers you are seeking, but they are based on the facts. Lastly, I commend you on being honorable and remaining active in your league, despite your dissatisfaction with the way things turned out. Hopefully, you can find consolation in the fact that your concerns have driven change in our help content, and improved the overall clarity of the rules surrounding trade reviews.
