When I visit the Yahoo main page and look at a news article.  I notice the lower left hand section of the browser is toggling the following (3 item) sequence

1) Done

2) Waiting

3) http://static.ak.fbcdn.net/connect/xd_proxy.php...

This sequnce keeps repeating over and over

I just started experiencing the same problem with that same URL -- flashes in my lower left screen as "waiting" and then sets off multiple unwanted browser windows opening up. The only way to stop this is a force shut down. This only occurs when I click a Yahoo! News link off the Yahoo! homepage (or within Yahoo! News). Adjustments to my browser/tab settings have not helped. Unfortunately I no longer use Yahoo! as my homepage as this problem is so annoying. Does anyone at Yahoo! News know what this URL is? I am on a PC running Windows 7 using Internet Explorer 8. Thank you.

I'm having the same problem. It started about a week ago. It's really annoying because it causes all open browser tabs to jam or freeze. The only way out I've found is to use the Windows Task Manager to End Task. That closes all open browser windows, which is a significant inconvenience.

"me too"...

My preferred style of browsing is to open the main page and right click to open links in new tabs.

EACH TAB goes nuts with this.  If I open more than one or two tabs (and I frequently open a stack of them before working through and closing each one as I read it) then CPU untilization goes to 100% and the browser locks up.

This is REALLY annoying, because it means I can't surf the Yahoo News portal the way I like to surf it.

I have 3 computers in my home and all of them are doing the same thing.

-My malware and anti-virus are up to date, scans reveal nothing wrong.

-My windows(XP), browser(explorer), Java, and DirectX, are up to date. I even did a pc tune up, cleaned everything up and still getting this "Done, Waiting, Flashing URL".

I posted this same problem, only called it "multiple windows."  Question....does yahoo have anyone checking out  information in Help community, to help solve this type of malfunction of their software?

Or?
