Name unknown to me, annoyingly keeps blinking on tabs at top

Name unknown to me, annoyingly keeps blinking on tabs at top of email page.

Yesterday there were three names, none of which I knew.  This name is

patricaguemest000?

Why is this happening.  I can't make it go away.

Hi Marlene,

Those annoying blinking tabs are friend requests for Messenger.  You will only receive them if you are signed in to Messenger in Mail, so the easiest way to stop receiving them is to sign out of Messenger.  Here is an article with more info:

My email page is blinking and jerking up and down.

 

What is doing this and how can I make it stop?
