Searching From Verizon Yahoo! Toolbar

Here’s How

1. Type one or more keywords in the Toolbar’s search box.

   

   While you type, (and if the search preferences allow), the area below the search box opens to provide assistance in the form of suggestions, additional search engines, pages last visited, and more. The letters you’re typing might even cause auto-complete to fill in the word for you.

   

2. You can use any of these options or ignore them.

   • To accept the auto-completed term, click the Web Search button to see the results in a Verizon Yahoo! Search page.

     

     If you don’t want to accept the auto-complete suggestion, keep typing or press the Delete key to erase the highlighted text before clicking the Web Search button.

   • Clicking a suggestion preceded with a spyglass returns Verizon Yahoo! Search results for that suggestion.

     

     Tip: If you click a suggestion with a time to the right (search history), you’ll see results similar to those you saw in an earlier search on the same term.

   • Clicking a search engine returns that engine’s results for your term. For example, clicking the Flickr search engine on the word "gardenias" results in Flickr displaying search results (images) for gardenias.

     

     

   • Clicking a site name opens the Web page for that site. The suggested sites are retrieved from your IE Favorites and your Yahoo! Bookmarks.
